UK gets Samsung Galaxy S Froyo update

Samsung had finally started rolling out Froyo, the latest version of Android, to UK users of its Galaxy S handset.

Google released Android 2.2 in May, but it took months for the update – which brings Flash support, speedier performance, Wi-Fi sharing and other enterprise-friendly features – to get customized by the various phone manufacturers. Samsung started a European rollout of its version of Froyo on 18 October, but it was only on Thursday that UK contract customers got it. (more…)

Motorola DROID 2 Global Now Available

Verizon Wireless silently launched the Motorola DROID 2 Global on their website today following the pre-orders of the DROID PRO. The DROID 2 Global takes the standard DROID 2 and adds a quad-band GSM radio, which Verizon claims enables voice and data service in over 200 countries, and a faster 1.2 GHz processor. (more…)

The Sony Ericsson W205, available in black, pink and white, is a member of Sony’s popular Walkman range of smartphones.
